In a series of eight new drawings and one painting, Maud Madsen continues her exploration of childhood folly with an earnest and playful recollection. Perhaps the central tenet of her work is the idea that when we look back at our formative experiences how can we not help but bring our adult selves along with us. To that end we see bug bites with an X to mark the spot where a mosquito has struck, two girls on a swing playing spider or a foot used as ballast in the making of a friendship bracelet. Intentionally, these moments captured are not seminal markers in life, but rather the ephemeral blips of innocence and connection that imbue our early days with texture and sentiment.
